In the Republic of Armenia, 25,000 historical and cultural structures have the status of monuments.

All objects that have received the status of monuments, newly discovered objects, as well as objects included in the state lists are protected by the state. The issue of granting the status of historical and cultural monuments to nine newly discovered structures was discussed at the first session of the expert committee this year. Immediately after receiving the status of newly discovered monuments, communities and community leaders are also informed about them so that the monuments can be preserved as properly as possible. In 2025, by government decision, 710 objects were included in the state list. Together with the last nine, at the moment 25,000 historical and cultural structures have the status of monuments.
