Looking down from the Tatev cable car, one can see the 17th-century monastic complex, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. Initiatives are currently underway to strengthen its international protection. Work at the site began in 2024, with the actual excavations starting the previous year. The entire preparatory phase is funded by the French Embassy; approximately 130,000 euros have been allocated to the Armenian organization responsible for the project's implementation. The excavations are ongoing. Currently, a restoration project for the monument is also being carried out through a joint effort involving French and Armenian architects.
