The turnover of hotels and restaurants has tripled.

Hotels and restaurants in Armenia have started the year with high activity. According to the latest data from the Statistical Committee, the turnover of the sector in the first quarter alone exceeded 83 billion drams. Compared to the same period in 2025, the growth is 9.5%, and if we compare it with the pre-pandemic years of 2018-19, the volumes of the sector have increased more than three times. According to a statistical survey conducted in 2013, 66% of tourists visiting Armenia were of Armenian origin, in 2023 this share was 35%. It is not that the number of people coming from the Diaspora has decreased, but rather that foreigners have started to come more. This means that the number of hotel users in total visits is increasing. Armenians by origin are also tourists, even if they do not stay in hotels. They spend a lot in other places. Representatives of all sectors state that the statistical growth is actually felt in business as well.
