In the fifth century, the winter quarters of the royal army, then the seat of Prince Grigor Mamikonyan, the Aruch fortress is constantly in the spotlight of archaeologists. Since 2022, excavations have been carried out here by Armenian and Italian archaeologists, who have discovered numerous finds and infrastructures. Experts have summarized the years of work in the book Aruch: Rediscovery of the Armenian Medieval Capital: Archaeological Expeditions from 2022 to 2025. Aruch was located on the Silk Road, so various branches of the economy were developed here, and cultural, political and spiritual life was active. The book is just part of the work aimed at popularizing Aruch. The goal is not only to discover archaeological values, but also to contribute to the development of the economic life of the tourist region.
