In 2027, Armenia will participate as an honorary country in the "Next Step Studio" international initiative, implemented within the framework of the Critics' Week program of the 80th Cannes Film Festival. The project is implemented by the Guild of Film Directors and Producers of Armenia, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. Within the framework of "Next Step Studio", four Armenian and four foreign directors will jointly shoot four short films in Armenia, inspired by the culture, reality and human stories of our country. This program is entirely dedicated to Armenia and creators in Armenia. The films will be in the Armenian language, with an Armenian film crew, Armenian post-production, Armenian music and Armenian stories. The initiative will also provide Armenian filmmakers with new opportunities for international cooperation.
