Oscar-winning Armenian producer Sev Ohanyan does not forget about his roots.


An Oscar-winning film producer and today one of the most influential Armenians of all time in Hollywood, Sev Ohanyan is. On the walls of his office are large posters of his films, most of which are in Armenian, which have practical meaning. His visitors and participants in online meetings always ask what language it is in, he gives an explanation and then a brief reflection on his roots. The film he shot after graduating from the University of California was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. Sev Ohanyan says that on that day he discovered the secret of success - the ability of Armenians to help each other in difficult times. He says that Armenians must be presented well, so that they recognize us for our talents, and then also tell our story. "The Sinners" filmed by the company he founded, Proximity Media, is the first in Oscar history to win 16 Oscars, and Sev Ohanyan became the first Armenian to receive the golden statuette as best producer. Sev Ohanyan combined innovation with Armenian themes and the Hollywood desire to achieve international recognition. He remained an Armenian who must sometimes return home.
