The government-funded road renovation work will begin in Yerevan. The emphasis will be on the central streets and the main entrances to Yerevan. The Prime Minister has instructed the government to carry out up to 50 km of road construction work annually in Yerevan and Gyumri. They have been included in the list of 500 km of road construction programs. The work of identifying and planning 50 km of sections to be renovated for 2027 is underway. It is very important that all the communications underneath are new so that there are no problems during the construction process and in the future and the renovated road is not demolished because of this. The Road Department plans to organize such a way that they will also have time to hold construction tenders this year. Construction work on a 14 km road in Gyumri is underway. Some of the sections to be reconstructed are the exits from the city. In 2026, 26 km of roads were renovated in Armenia, and construction of 170 km will begin in the coming days.
