iGate automated systems will soon be introduced at Zvartnots Airport. These are self-service devices. The person crossing the border scans their passport, provides fingerprints if necessary, is photographed, after which the entrance is opened. Online data verification takes place and the gate opens the doors automatically. These systems are operating at border crossing points in different countries. They are planned to be installed in Armenia by the end of the year. It will most likely be synchronized with the introduction of the biometric system and new generation documents will be applicable.
