Removing the old building of Zvartnots Airport from the list of immovable monuments of history and culture of Yerevan is no longer on the agenda. Armenia International Airports Company has committed to investing about $425 million in the airport. The old building is planned to be renovated. The existing new terminal should be integrated into the old building, which is a monument. The tower and the surrounding building will be modified in some way, but its monument status will be preserved. The capital investment program should be completed by 2033, as Zvartnots, which serves an unprecedented number of passengers, urgently needs new terminals.
