A series of autumn festivals is coming to the communities of Vayots Dzor.

In the coming weeks, the region is set to become a hub for agrotourism. The festival series kicks off on September 19 in the border village of Khachik with its 10th anniversary celebration. Beyond sweet treats, the organizers promise a packed entertainment program. True to tradition, this year aims to break the previous record by preparing an even larger "gata" pastry. Two weeks later, on October 3, festive tables will be set in Areni. The beloved Areni Wine Festival will once again entertain guests late into the evening with wine tastings, local delicacies, and a concert program. The following day, October 4, tourists can sample ancient and forgotten dishes of national cuisine at the "Rind Tadir Shorva" festival. The stars of the day here are the village grandmothers, showcasing recipes preserved from generation to generation. Such festivals raise the profile of these settlements and revitalize rural life, ultimately channeling financial resources into remote communities as well.
